This video goes down as one of the funnest videos I’ve been a part of.  Not only was I surrounded by talented individuals but they are jokesters too.  Combining snowboarding or any other high energy activity with music is definitely a formula for the ultimate adrenaline rush for me.  These guys happen to be out in Chicago for a birthday bash and Academy of Heroes show so I figured let’s top off the weekend with a trip to the slopes and shoot a music video.

The end result “King of the Castle” a song that has a yin yang element to it.  Allow me to explain… The first verse lead by Trixx and Lil Crazed starts off with motivating, positive message.  JReyez and Jargon follows up with a more inspirational but agressive, attacking message.  When I sing my parts, it talks about the fight within and how I must work to overcome it.  In the end, there is a balance.  Confused??  That’s just the artist rant in me.  You can ignore all of that.  The lyrics from the song “SEIZE THE DAY” says it best.

My understanding of love reached new heights when I learned that I was becoming a daddy.  It finally clicked for me the reason my parents were the way they were to me, the pride they felt with each of my successes, and their willingness to give everything to their child.  I don’t think there was a more proud moment when I saw that ultrasound and the show he or she put on for us, reaching for their toes, yawning, and practically dancing before our very eyes.

Before you even take your first breath, before you even see the world with your own eyes, I can honestly say I have enough love coming your way than the distance to the sun.  I’m a changed man already.  I’m more thankful than ever to be alive.  I can’t wait to hold you in my arms and shield you from harm.  Before I even meet you I already love you Baby C.

I played lots of ball in my life.  Watching Jeremy Lin make it to be big leagues and being successful in recent times is like living my childhood dream.  I was inspired by his accomplishments and just the way he carries himself.

Listening to the radio one day, I heard about how he lifted his team to 7 straight victories, how he’s unselfish, a leader, strong in faith, and just lots of positive things.  Then in the same breath, I heard the radio host talk about how he’s over hyped, unproven, and they couldn’t figure out why he’s being talked about the way that he’s talked about.  At that very moment, I couldn’t help but be even more inspired.

Today’s society seems like it is filled with so many dirt bags and bad influences especially in sports entertainment (at least the ones that get major attention).  Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure there is a fair share of good influences and role models as well.  Like anybody that is successful, as soon as that person has the spotlight, there is always people that will try to shoot it down.  I hope you can relate to this song and  remember to shine bright when your time comes.

Although I don’t totally get into the holiday spirit, stringing lights, heavy decorating, etc.. I love being around family during this time of the year.  Family is high priority to me.  No one goes through life thinking they should have worked more hours.  People usually regret not spending more time with family.  Whatever the tradition is family is #1.

Each year my family usually goes all out for one another with gifts. This year we changed it up a bit on the secret santa gift exchange (look at the gift I made for my secret santa ABOVE).  We list our “wants”, draw names, and do the usually.  Except this year instead of simply gathering the gifts and finding the gift with your name on it, we added a twist.  Each person acted out their secret santa in a fun / humorous way, while everyone that watched had to guess who the person is.  The secret santa gift exchange actually turned out really fun and comical.  I think it shows how tight we are, how we understand each other, and really brings us closer together.  It also reaffirms who all of the crazy, silly people in my family lol.

Though we shower each other with money, gifts, and material things, nothing is better than the gift of family and the time we spend with each other.  This year has been a fun ride overall in the realm of music and life in general.  2012 deserves an “end of the world” experience.  The ride starts Jan 1.  See you there.

After months of searching for beats, writing lyrics, recording vocals, mixing vocals, adjusting the levels, shooting the videos, editing, scheduling, yada.. yada.. I’m so ready to drop this mixtape!!  Every artist that has put together a MIXTAPE or album project knows how much hard work, sweat, and labor goes into it.

Being an independent artist can be challenging but at the same time, it’s a great feeling of freedom.  The benefit is you control all the work.  The disadvantage is you control all the work!!  You either have to know how to do everything or find someone to help you with it.  From editing music / editing videos / designing artwork / promoting.  Word of advice: Learn it all.  Knowledge is power.

I’m really looking forward to sharing my heart and soul to all my fans and supporters with this one.  I can honestly say that I’m proud of each and every song and hope that everyone can relate to them in one way or another.  I’m going to go out on a limb and say this is my BEST compilation project yet!  As we approach 2012, stay tuned for exact dates as to when the “Official” release will take place.  The final song before the CMIXTAPE drops will be “Flawless” ft. Lil Crazed dropping on Christmas Day.

A while ago I announced a deal that was being worked out between Sony and I (as a songwriter). That deal has been sealed thanks to my producers from Hitimpulse Music Group. Today I got to see the official music video to “Rise to the Top” performed by Ardian Bujubi (3rd place winner of German Idol) aired on VIVA Germany. Rise to the Top is the second SINGLE being released from his debut album “To The Top”. His album drops December 9, 2011.

As a songwriter, this is a very proud moment for me knowing that the message within the song is going to be shared to a wide audience. Some people will wonder: Why didn’t Sony take the original artist behind the song? Well the music industry has many mysteries and we may never know the answer to that. Don’t hate on Sony, the music industry, or the other artist; be happy for me! To land a single in the music industry is a big accomplishment and hopefully just the start.
